Bluetooth is wireless technology that enables various electronic devices (both fixed and mobile) to exchange data over short-range wireless connections. To accomplish this, Bluetooth-enabled technology uses a small radio circuit, combined with an open wireless protocol, to create wireless personal area networks (WPANs). An example of Bluetooth technology is the wireless earpiece that is designed to work with portable radios. Bluetooth technology development is guided by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group.
